Students' Artwork Celebrates Creativity at The Delaplaine Arts Center

In December, The Delaplaine Arts Center in downtown Frederick proudly showcased stunning 2-D and 3-D artwork created by students from both the Columbia and Frederick campuses. Displayed in the Community Art Gallery, the exhibit beautifully highlighted our students' creativity as they expressed their Deaf culture, identity, and personal experiences through art.

Elementary and middle school students from the Columbia campus explored various elements of art to create their unique masterpieces, while elementary students from the Frederick campus focused on the theme of Word Art, using different approaches to thoughtfully blend words and visuals.

Before winter break, fifth-grade students from both campuses came together for a field trip to The Delaplaine Arts Center. They enjoyed viewing their artwork on display and taking in the vibrant artistic sights of downtown Frederick.

Congratulations to all of our talented young artists for their inspiring artwork! A heartfelt thank you to their dedicated visual arts teachers, Bonnie Arnold and Minja Jung-Sanderlin, for guiding and nurturing their creativity.
